Total Suspended Solids Filters

Total suspended solids or non-filterable residue are solids such as silt, decaying matter and other particulates that can be filtered out of water using a filter with pore size of 2 microns or smaller. High concentrations of suspended solids can cause many problems for stream health and aquatic life and serve as an indicator of water quality. Popular methods for this measurement are Standard Method 2540D, ASTM D5907-13 and EPA Method 160.2.
