DryDisk® Separation Membrane
with Gore-Tex Process Filtration Media

DryDisk® Separation Membranes offer a much more efficient means of drying solvents in organic extractions than sodium sulfate. Because it is a physical separation rather than a chemical process to remove residual water from organic solvent extractions, DryDisk® Separation Membranes eliminate the problems inherent with chemical drying such as; retention of water-soluble compounds, over-saturation, clogging, oven drying, messy waste removal, inability to handle emulsions.

The labor required to dry extracted samples using DryDisk® Separation Membranes is significantly less than that of the multi-step chemical process. Faster sample turn-around times lower laboratory costs while increasing overall productivity. The non-contaminating, hydrophobic Gore-Tex
® membrane has an infinite capacity for residual water and will not interfere with the adsorption of analytes, increasing your range of analyte testing with complete, consistent recoveries.

Advantages of DryDisk® Separation Membrane over sodium sulfate drying:
Faster sample processing
Unlimited capacity for water
Increased sample throughput
Works on emulsions
Repeatability
Less lab waste and no oven drying

DryDisk® Separation Membrane NEW
50 mL Disposable Barrel

The new DryDisk® Separation Membrane 50 mL Barrel is a disposable sample preparation device that provides a fast and simple approach for removing residual water from non-polar solvents. The DryDisk® membrane replaces the conventional sodium sulphate drying technique. The barrel is made from high purity HDPE (high density polyethylene) and has a GORE-TEX® PTFE membrane embedded inside. The membrane is supported by an inert polymeric laminate for maximum mechanical integrity.

Placement of the DryDisk® Separation Membrane 50 mL Barrel on the DryVap® Concentrator System

DryDisk® integrated with the barrel, no assembly required.
Simply place the barrel in the manifold, add the sample and run.
Removes residual water from smaller volume, non-polar solvent extracts.
Replaces conventional sodium sulfate drying.
Compatible with 3rd party SPE vacuum manifolds.
Discard the barrel after use, no messy clean-up.

The DryDisk® Separation Membrane 50 mL Barrel offers the maximum in speed and convenience for drying smaller volume extracts as there is no assembly required. The DryDisk® Separation Membrane 50 mL Barrel is useful for removing water from methylene chloride extracts, methylene chloride/acetone mixtures, alkane based solvents, toluene and ethyl acetate. DryDisk® Separation Membrane 50 mL Barrel is not designed to remove water from polar solvents such as acetone, methanol, or acetonitrile. The DryDisk® Separation Membrane 50 mL Barrel may be used with the DryVap® Concentrator System, or with 3rd Party SPE Manifolds.

SDS- 101 Solvent Drying System

The SDS-101 Solvent Drying System simplifies and speeds up the
solvent drying step in sample preparation. The system consists of
the DryDisk® Separation Membrane, PTFE Membrane Holder
Assembly, precision controlled Vacuum Regulator, and Docking
Bracket Assembly.

The SDS-101 is adaptable to common 1/2 in. diameter laboratory frames and can be mounted easily under the separatory funnel to collect the solvent extract. Quick disconnect fittings and detachable disk holders permits the collected residual water to be poured back into the separatory funnel for re-extraction and optimal recovery of analytes.
