SPE Disk
Atlantic™
SPE Disk
The Atlantic™ SPE Disk is proven effective in extracting
analytes from drinking water, surface water, and particulate
laden wastewater. Developed to extract a wide range of
sample matrices, it is made with HLB, C18,
as well as DVB sorbent. ‘Lot certified’ batches
are available insuring consistent results for lab testing
needs. Atlantic™
SPE Disks are ‘Certified for Automation’ designed specifically
for use with the Horizon Technology SPE-DEX® 4790 Automated
Extractors.

Pre-Filter
For use with the Atlantic™
SPE Disk, the
Atlantic™ Pre-Filter is a high-quality, fast-flow pre-filter
for use with the Atlantic™ SPE Disk. The Atlantic™ Pre-Filter
increases sample flow rate without compromising recoveries.
Perfect for dirty samples, the Atlantic™ Pre-Filter will
accelerate sample throughput, and enables reproducible
recoveries at an outstanding flow rate. Atlantic™ Pre-Filters
are ‘Certified for Automation’ designed specifically for
use with the Horizon Technology SPE-DEX® 4790 Automated
Extractor.

Atlantic™
HLB SPE Disk
The
Atlantic™ HLB SPE Disk, is a solid-phase sample preparation
product for the analysis of EPA Method 8270 (semi-volatile
organics), EPA Method 1694 (pharmaceuticals and personal
care products), endocrine disruptors, and other emerging
contaminants in wastewater and drinking water.
The single-use Atlantic™ HLB SPE Disks are designed to
economically handle samples at higher rates of speed than
ordinary cartridges leading to greater laboratory productivity.
The HLB sorbent is a Hydrophilic-Lipophilic-Balanced,
water-wettable, reversed-phase sorbent. It is made from
a specific ratio of two monomers, hydrophilic N-vinylpyrrolidone
and lipophilic divinylbenzene, providing reversed-phase
capacity with a neutral polar ‘hook’ for enhanced retention
of polar anayltes.
The Atlantic™ HLB SPE Disk is in the same class as the
Oasis® HLB SPE Disk, as it incorporates the same sorbent,
but the Atlantic™ HLB SPE Disk has an improved format
which enables greater efficiency, reliability, and reproducible
results.
One of the improvements of the Atlantic™ HLB SPE Disk
formulation is reduced glass fiber content, which decreases
the amount of residual water retained during extraction.
The reduction in glass fiber provides more efficient extractions
when dealing with non-polar solvents. For water miscible
extractions, the reduced glass fiber means less water
in the extract and faster evaporation times when concentrating
the sample.
Atlantic™
HLB SPE Disk Features:
- Reduced
glass fiber content
- Reduced
water retention content
- Improved evaporation times for EPA Method 1694
- Improved precision of results for EPA Method 8270
- No
compromise on the disks built-in pre-filtering capability
- Available
in three capacities High (H), Medium (M), Low (L)
The
Atlantic™ HLB SPE disks are built on the Horizon Technology
Atlantic™ Disk platform, widely used by environmental
laboratories analyzing samples with gas and GC, GC-MS,
LC, and LC-MS, in compliance with approved methods of
analysis. The Atlantic™ HLB SPE Disk is specifically designed
and ‘Certified for Automation’ with the SPE-DEX® 4790
Automated Extractor System also developed by Horizon Technology.
