FEATURE ARTICLE:
Your Lab Can Be Even More Productive and Cost Efficient

You've procured your SPE equipment — you're up and running — now it's time to improve even more on your capital and operating budget, staffing, and equipment utilization, for optimal productivity and profitability.
The following accessories, consumables, and service plans, available from Horizon Technology, are guaranteed to help keep your lab costs down, and your productivity up.

"Certified for Automation" SPE Disks
Horizon Technology Atlantic and Pacific "Certified for Automation" SPE Disks are created specifically for each solid phase extraction EPA Method. Each lot is tested for the particular method, certified, and guaranteed by Horizon Technology.

What this means for you? A lower cost of QC for batch r
uns due to consistent performance of the SPE chemistries. These consistent results, will eliminate resampling due to chemistry failures, saving you thousands of dollars. Horizon Technology also has the ability to manufacture a "batch lot" of a particular EPA Method, Pacific or Atlantic disk, for your lab or network, adding an even higher level of guaranteed consistency in results.

Worried about cost?
We understand that, and will match or beat any disk pricing that is out there. Take advantage of these improved EPA Method Disk and improve your lab efficiency and reduce costs.

Direct-to-GC Vials
The Direct-to-GC Vial for the Horizon Technology DryVap Concentrator System saves you time, by removing the transfer minutes accrued due to human interaction.

Horizon Technology has several labs who are have been using the Direct-to-GC Vial capability, and have reported a time savings of up to three minutes per concentration, and a higher level of consistency between samples. Remove the human interaction and save you on labor and resampling costs.

Dry Disk Separation Membrane
The DryDisk Membrane eliminates the use
of Sodium Sulfate for drying extracts.
It takes approximately 2 minutes from start to finish to dry a 250ml of extract with the Dry Disk, versus 20 minutes start to finish with Sodium Sulfate. Not to mention the time (and cost) you save by not having to deal with the disposal of hazardous waste associated with sodium sulfate.

DID YOU KNOW:
Coating the SPE-DEX Extractor Water Inlet Valves

The 4790 Water Inlet Valve assembly is made of PTFE. Due to the surface tension of water, and where the PTFE is not a very "wettable" surface, a phenomenon termed "Vapor Lock" can occur. When this happens, water from the sample bottle does not flow down into the Disk Holder during the sample-processing step of the extraction method, even if the valve is fully open.

Click below for a tech tip on how to prevent this occuring.
