'Certified for Automation'
Pacific O&G™ Disks Excellent Reviews
Discover the Value Pacific O&G
Disks Can Bring to Your Lab
Salem, NH, July 27, 2007 Horizon Technology Pacific O&G™ Disks continue to receive excellent reviews from laboratories running EPA Method 1664A, for both recovery rates and cost savings.
"We have analyzed a number of the EPA recommended QC standards with 91-92% recovery using the Pacific O&G Disks. All blanks have been below detection limits," said Herb Kodis, Laboratory Director, Maine Environmental Laboratory.
Using a combination of advanced liquid handling, Pacific O&G™ Disks, and the Horizon Technology Spe-Dex® 3000 Extraction System, lab managers have reported receiving the accuracy and consistency of data needed to comply with EPA Method 1664A QC specifications.
"Oil and grease analysis using EPA method 1664A presents new challenges for laboratories that have had to move away from Freon™113 based Liquid-Liquid extractions. The 'performance based' method 1664A utilizes n-Hexane rather than Freon as the extraction solvent. We automate the method, thus eliminating any possible errors that could have occurred during manual extraction," explains Tom Hall, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Horizon Technology." The most important thing to consider when purchasing disks for O&G is 'quality' - we test and certify all Pacific disks for automation with our equipment. Users may perceive that this makes our products more costly, but it doesn't, we match and beat any pricing out there."
