About
Horizon Technology, Inc.
Horizon
Technology helps analytical labs meet their business objectives.
Horizon Technology is a leading manufacturer of automated
Sample Preparation Systems for the analysis of organic
compounds in aqueous samples and Oil & Grease testing.
Environmental testing laboratories who follow EPA methods
for semi-volatile organics, Oil & Grease, DRO’s, TPH,
Pesticides and Explosives have found our complete, automated
sample preparation systems increase productivity, improve
the accuracy of their results and lower operating costs.
The
automated sample preparation systems we
develop and manufacture reflect our understanding
of the challenges today's laboratories face. Horizon Technology
helps
laboratory managers meet their
business objectives by increasing sample throughput, reducing
operating costs and improving the accuracy
and consistency of their data.

Spe-Dex® Automated Extractor Systems
Automate a sample preparation process known as Solid
Phase Extraction (SPE). SPE is a new and preferred process
that uses chemically coated extraction disks and cartridges
to prepare water samples, waste samples and biological samples
for analysis. SPE technology replaces traditional,
labor-intensive Liquid-Liquid extraction (LLE) procedures.
The
DryVap®
System
Automatically removes water from solvents (dries), evaporates
solvents and concentrates samples through the evaporation
of the extraction solvent prior to analysis by GC, GC/MS,
HPLC or LC/MS. Evaporates
residual solvents from compounds of interest for further
research or compound production.
DryDisk™ Separation Membranes simplify the removal
of water from organic solvents. When used with Horizon Technology’s
Solvent Drying System, DryDisk™ Separation Membranes offer
significant advantages over existing sodium sulfate drying
methods. In addition to reducing laboratory waste, the membrane
physically separates the water phase from the organic phase
resulting in higher recovery rates of analytes from the
concentrated sample.
Reclaimer™
Solvent Recovery System
Protects our environment from harmful solvent vapors created
during the sample preparation process.
