JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Buyer to purchase items for products produced in Salem, NH. The Buyer will be responsible for negotiating quality, delivery and pricing for the inventory components that impact the costs and the gross margins of the products sold. This position reports to the Purchasing Manager, US Horizon Products, and is located in Salem, New Hampshire.

Essential Job Duties

  • Lead buyer for purchased materials, ensuring requirements are met regarding quality, on-time delivery and price
  • Use best practices and corporate guidelines in negotiations on new contracts
  • Prepare and execute purchase orders to pre-qualified vendors
  • Provide daily updates to operations team on vendor delays
  • Resolve vendor delivery discrepancies
  • Update and maintain Purchasing module in Profit Key software system
  • Participate in ECO and MRB process
  • Communicate with vendors and manage and maintain RTV log
  • Work with vendor and Accounting department on any invoice discrepancies
  • Track vendor performance, including on-time delivery and quality issues
  • Manage vendor base, and build vendor relationships
  • Perform root cause analysis when issues arise and implement action plan to prevent further occurrences
  • Collaborate with engineers on opportunities for quality and cost improvement with respect to purchased items

 Knowledge/Skills/Education/Experience Requirements

  • Two or four year degree in related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Supply chain experience in a progressive organization focused on improvements to quality, delivery and cost
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Knowledge of accounting and cost systems
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings preferred
  • Experience in ISO, Kanban and lean manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding of all facets of supply chain and materials management
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Able to maintain professional demeanor during a stressful situation
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Must be proficient in MS Office and Windows

 Physical Demands

  • Must regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Must be able to lift Biotage instruments from floor to lab bench.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly required to walk, talk, hear, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and handle. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

 Work Environment

  • Office based position working from a cubicle/office/desk.
  • Moderate noise level and frequent interaction with office colleagues, vendors, etc.

Technical Sales Rep – Southeast Region

We are seeking a Technical Sales Representative to sell Horizon Analytical Chemistry Products (SPE Consumables and Instruments) into the environmental and food/agriculture markets within the assigned territory. Responsible for growth (quarter on quarter and year on year), managing customer relationships and assistance in development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives.

The territory covered will be the Southeastern Region (AL, FL, GA, KY, NC, SC, and TN) and reports to the Sales Manager of US Horizon Products. Travel within the territory is 3-5 days per week in the field directly interfacing with prospects and customers; overnight travel as required to support call frequency in the territory. Other domestic and international travel may be required periodically. Applicants must be able to support working out of a home office located within the assigned territory.

JOB OVERVIEW

Essential Job Duties

  • Achieve defined monthly, quarterly and annual targets for revenue, profitability for the territory and specific product volumes.
  • Responsible for lead generation and management including identification, initial qualification and development of leads.
  • Identify and develop new customer relationships.
  • Identify and execute cost-effective lead generation campaigns targeted at end users, including advertising, PR, trade shows, newsletters and webinars.
  • Installation and support of less sophisticated systems and separation products and provide first level support for customers’ service needs.
  • Determine market requirements and work with the R&D group to develop new products.
  • Perform hands-on demonstration of instruments and consumable products to demonstrate business value and product differentiation.
  • Provide the organization and channel partners with valuable sales tools, including competitive analysis, ROI calculators, and RFP templates.
  • Timely follow up and qualification of leads and document results in CRM platform.
  • Accurate and up to date documentation of sales activities and opportunity status in CRM platform.
  • Represent the company at conferences as needed.
  • Develop and present technical seminars as needed.
  • Generate quotes and negotiate pricing within authorized limits.
  • Provide on time and accurate sales forecasts.
  • Provide accurate and on time standard reports and ad hoc information requests.
  • Support company initiatives as well as sales and marketing strategies as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities as requested.

 KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science based discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of analytical system sales experience.
  • Proven track record of success in growing sales revenue for consumable product lines.
  • SPE and environmental market sales experience a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, be a self-starter, be creative and have strong organizational skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment with shifting priorities.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and CRM software (Salesforce.com).
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Must be able to drive in the USA and Canada. Must provide professional automobile for travel to customer’s sites. Must be able to fly and rent automobiles.
